Questions

What buyers and sellers on the Tweed ask us

I live in Queensland. Can you handle a purchase on the Tweed?

Yes. Tweed properties are in NSW, so the purchase uses a NSW contract and transfer duty is paid to Revenue NSW. As licensed NSW conveyancers, we handle it from start to finish.

Can I use a property on the Tweed as a holiday rental?

Short-term rentals must be registered on the NSW short-term rental register before they're advertised, and strata by-laws can restrict them. We check the by-laws before you exchange.

How quickly will I get my review back?

Same day on request. If you are bidding at an auction on the weekend, pre-auction advice is available by appointment.

Is there a cooling-off period?

For established homes in NSW, 5 business days after exchange, and pulling out costs 0.25% of the price. There is no cooling-off at auction, so get the contract checked before the day.

Is an off-the-plan contract different?

Yes. NSW off-the-plan buyers get a 10 business day cooling-off period, and the contract comes with a disclosure statement covering the sunset date, draft plan and by-laws. We review off-the-plan contracts separately; see off-the-plan conveyancing.

Can you handle the whole purchase or sale?

Yes. If the contract looks right, we can take you through exchange and settlement. Get a quote and we'll confirm the fixed fee upfront.

How quickly can you prepare my contract of sale?

We prepare your contract within 24 business hours, so your agent can start marketing sooner. Get a selling quote.
